BECOMING THE BOSWORTHS | PART 1 : HOW WE MET-Facebook Message

I wouldn’t be here where I am at today, without one of my biggest supporters; my hubby!  I pray every day how blessed I am that the Lord brought a Godly man into my life at the right moment.  Over the next few weeks, I wanted to share how Jeff and I met and how our family has grown over the past 5 years.  I am honored every day to serve families, couples, and brides and grooms! I love capturing their stories through my lens and each story is different. I think that is what makes us all unique.  Our own story is unique in many ways and I am so excited to serve y’all and share our story!

I moved to Texas in 2006 on a limb and moved in with my cousins, aunt, and uncle. Over those 8 years, I grew close with a friend, Kati.  Kati was doing Crossfit at Flower Mound and talked to me several times about joining the gym.  I thought about it and just kept pushing it off. In April of 2014, I stood outside of The Village Church in Flower Mound with one of my best friends, Heather.  We stood outside, prayed that the Lord will bring us a Godly man and that he would love us like Christ loves the church.  Within that week,  I got ahold of Kati and told her I would come try out Crossfit.  I started my introductory coaching to get me ready for classes.  At that time, Kati knew Jeff because they have done crossfit together for couple years and Kati and her son would help Jeff out by taking care of his dog while Jeff was at work.  Jeff at this time didn’t realize how close Kati and I knew each other.

The 1st day at my 101 coaching, Jeff and Kati came over to talk to me briefly before class. After they walked away, I immediately thought to myself, is God pointing towards Jeff’s direction.  As my coaching went along, I kept looking over in Jeff’s direction and I saw him drop a kettlebell by accident. He looked at me, smiled, and jokingly told me not to tell anyone 🙂 At that point, I had this weird feeling, but a good feeling.  After a my 3 coaching classes, I was ready for crossfit classes. That’s when Jeff and I both sent Kati Facebook messages!

Both, Jeff and I messaged Kati asking about one another and we didn’t know at this time we did.  Jeff asked Kati about my story and Kati told me that Jeff is such a sweet guy and would be someone I would like to get to know. It wasn’t until Easter week, I asked Jeff after a crossfit class to come play sand volleyball with my friends from church.  Jeff definitely showed up and I couldn’t have been more excited that he came. My heart was racing and I couldn’t stop smiling!

Crossfit Flower Mound: Where we met 🙂

Fast-forward to May, our trainers were competing in a competition down in Dallas.  That weekend, I had so much going on with friends and Jeff messaged me to see if I wanted to join him and go to the competition to watch.  I was going back and forth and Jeff said that he would wait for me and drive us down. I said yes and Jeff drove us to Dallas.  When we got back to my car, Jeff asked if he could take me out on a date. I had NO CLUE! After spending the day with him, him paying for my ticket, driving us to Dallas, I literally had no clue he was interested in me nor really had a guy ask me if he could take me out on a date.

We had our 1st date soon after that at Patrizo’s in Highland Village and walked around Barnes and Noble afterwards because Jeff didn’t want to end the date. I was so smitten by him because I rarely had a guy come to my house and pick me up. I kept replaying in my head when Heather and I stood outside of church praying for the Lord to bring us a Christ loving man into our lives and how could he have done that in just a short few weeks?

After our date, he asked for second, and I couldn’t have been more excited to say yes.  On our way to dinner for our 2nd date, that’s where I saw Jeff as an honest man.  During our drive to dinner, he was vulnerable in telling me something.  He was married before for 3 years. At that point, I could’ve had Jeff turn the car around and take me home or see where this goes.  I thought to myself, who I am to judge someone’s past without really getting to know someone. I am so happy that I did and our story grew as I started dating Jeff Bosworth!

We started dating for a few weeks and then I left for 6 weeks for the summer up in Michigan to spend with my family. We both had no idea what those 6 weeks would hold since we just started dating, but after getting a sweet letter in mail by Jeff and me sending him a letter, we both wanted to invest in each other!

I came home after spending 6 weeks in Michigan to only have 2 weeks to see him because I was headed to the Grand Caymans with 2 of my best friends and their family. This image was taken right when I got back from the Caymans and we headed to a Crossfit Community Workout and were partners for the workout 🙂

This was our trip to Austin! Jeff never been to Austin and I took him there. We went zip lining over Lake Travis and had the best time!

Our 1st Halloween together! I would give us credit as we made our costumes last minute 🙂

Our 1st wedding we went to as a couple to celebrate 2 of my friends getting married!

Our 1st Thanksgiving up in Michigan! We had troubles flying and they lost our luggage, but with the help of my sister and brother in law, we had some Notre Dame apparel for the ND game with my sister and her hubby! GO IRISH!
