I had the opportunity to attend the Styled Shoot Across America at The White Sparrow Barn in Quinlan, TX!  Heather Benge from Heather Benge Events was the host of this beautiful event.  She had vendors from all over the U.S. and speakers come to this event!  On the first day, 150 of us had the opportunity to listen from Laine Napoli, from Branding Addicts!  Laine, talked about about how to create your own brand and creating inspiration boards when planning a styled shoot. I loved Laine’s quote which struck me, “You were created for a divine purpose!”  I loved this quote because I stopped teaching in order to pursue my dream and passion in photography.  God has a purpose for us and I am starting to see that in my love to serve others in photography! Then Sarah Campbell, from Intrigue Designs, had a powerful message to us.  She talked to us how to stand out in an oversaturated market!  She mentioned to us about how to look to be different, look to be unique, and”what do people say about me?”  Next, we heard from Lisa Thorne, from Thorne & Thistle!  She spoke about how to secure vendors, network, publication, and study others blogs.  Our next speaker, I couldn’t wait to hear and see!  Not only do I follow her on instagram, but she’s a redhead too!  It was a treat to hear from Julie Paisley, from Julie Paisley Photography!  If you don’t follow her, go follow her on instagram!  She spoke to us both days about how to get published and what’s our Why!”  She truly has a heart in educating others in photography and helping new and veteran photographers with their business.   We finished up on day 1, where 2 groups were spilt in 1/2.  Half of the group did the styled shoot and the other 1/2 did flat lays and headshots!

On Day 2, I couldn’t be more excited and anxious.  This was my day to do the styled shoot in the afternoon! I couldn’t wait to photograph and learn more about photography!  The morning was spent with more amazing speakers!  We were able to listen to Lauren Grove, from Every Last Detail and the tips to getting published!   Tabitha O’Neill from Tab McCausland Photography spoke to us about social media and how social media plays a role in creating your own brand and serving others!  Adelena Rooney from Fleurology talked to us about using styled shoots to attract our ideal clients!  We then had an opportunity to ask questions and then it was time to photograph the styled shoot for my group!  I couldn’t be more blessed for this amazing opportunity and what it is doing for me as a photographer. I was able to learn and grow from this experience listening to others in this market and learn the photography side!  I can’t wait for what the Lord has in store for me this year and I want to thank all the vendors that put on this styled shoot and for Heather Benge for hosting it!  You are making my dreams come true!
