The Grand Ivory Wedding | Blake & Cam
Ever since I got Blake and Cam’s inquiry for their gorgeous Grand Ivory wedding day, I knew they were going to be two special people with a special celebration. Serving my couples leading up to and on their wedding day is probably the best part of being a wedding photographer. I love capturing their day – but I love serving them as people even more. And Blake and Cam are no exception. These two are the sweetest and I’m still in awe of the fact that they planned this whole day while Blake was in medical school!
Cam and Blake met at a family friend’s lake house right before Blake started medical school. Before long, Cam proposed on Enchanted Rock and they had the most magical day together celebrating. Cam had rented out a winery to surprise Blake, along with a video congratulations from their friends and a delicious dinner. Since then, they’ve been adjusting to life in medical school and planning this beautiful event.

Unfortunately, the week leading up to the wedding, it was pouring non-stop and we were all a bit worried. Of course, it continued to rain on Blake and Cam’s day, which is good luck… but also a bummer! Thankfully, the Grand Ivory has some gorgeous indoor spaces to move their ceremony to and we found some other little nooks for portraits throughout the day. Blake and Cam’s day was filled with so many special moments, despite the poor weather. One of my favorites was when Blake and her mom were exchanging gifts. She gifted Blake a locket with her grandpa’s portrait and we tied it to her bouquet. Her grandmother also gave Blake her wedding ring, which she hasn’t worn since Blake’s grandpa passed away. It doesn’t get much sweeter and more meaningful than that!
Although rainy wedding days aren’t uncommon, I’m still always in awe of how well couples adjust and deal with the bad weather. Cam and Blake were no different. They were amazing and just had a great time celebrating with their family and friends. I’m so glad they focused on what was special about their day and could just have a great time.
