I’m so excited to be sharing Danielle and Ben’s Dallas Arboretum engagement portraits with you today! These two are SO sweet and their love story is just something special. I met Danielle through one of my previous weddings where she was a bridesmaid, so I was thrilled when she reached out to me about capturing their engagement session and wedding day. Danielle and Ben are some of those people that you just KNOW are meant to be together. I’m so happy they found each other and I’ve had the chance to get to know them. 

Their Love Story

During the pandemic, Danielle and Ben both decided to try online dating to meet people since in-person meetups were, well, limited! Both went through a handful of matches before finding out that they had both swiped on each other. They began to talk and before long, Danielle invited Ben to help move her brother and sister-in-law in Waco. He decided it was a good chance to meet her in person but to also meet some of her family (and maybe make a good impression!). Ben told me that as soon as he opened the door and saw Danielle, he just knew there was something special about her …. SO sweet!!! 

Not long after that, they officially began to date, taking trips to the dog park, Chik-fil-a and baking lots of cookies. Although they were both busy, they always made time for each other. A few months into their official relationship starting, Ben found out that he was going to be deployed for 9 months. They decided to stay together and do everything they could to make it through. 

Spoiler alert: through many FaceTime calls, texts, and phone conversations, they MADE IT. Danielle and Ben took many a “digital date” thousands of miles apart, but they made it work. In July, they were reunited. That evening, Ben knew it was time to make things permanent. They decided to take their dogs for a walk. Although Ben was having a hard time lying about why he was so nervous, they finally made it to the park. While Danielle wasn’t looking, he dropped down to one knee and asked her to marry him. She said “yes!” (obviously!) and now they’re planning their dream wedding. 

Dallas Arboretum Engagement Portraits

I seriously adore these two and I’m so happy I was able to meet up with them at the Dallas Arboretum for their engagement session. It’s one of my favorite places to celebrate with my couples. They chose some beautiful and classic outfits for the session – which looked incredible everywhere we shot. I’m thrilled to share their portraits with you now! Danielle and Ben are seriously meant to be together. It’s obvious in every single portrait of them that they’re perfect for each other!
