In the midst of COVID -19 and this season we are all going through, joy and laughter was shown through a Spring Waxahachie proposal! The weather was perfect for Garrett and Shanna after it has been raining for a week straight in Texas.

Shanna’s sister, Taylor, reached out to me a few weeks ago about capturing her sister’s proposal. I was excited to get behind my camera and capture a special moment for Garrett and Shanna! The day started with the Tulip Farm in Pilot Point for Taylor, Shanna, their mom, and sister law . As they were headed to the Tulip Farm, Garrett was supposed to meet them there. He called Shanna to let her know that he was going to go golfing instead with his dad and they can meet up later. Shanna was a little disappointed, but Garrett had a surprise coming!

The Plan…

Garrett and Shanna are currently building their first home in Waxahachie, TX while waiting in San Antonio to take their boards for dentistry. Garrett wanted to propose at their home and had help from one of Shanna’s childhood friend, Jessica. When I arrived, Garrett ordered letters that say, “MARRY ME!” We lined the pathway into the house with candles, rose petals, and balloons! The plan was to have her walk in to “Lover” by Taylor Swift!

As we finished up decorating, Garrett and Jessica ran to go get changed and head back. Taylor was texting Garrett and Jess to let them know how far out they were. Garrett’s parents showed up to the house along with other family members. When Shanna was 10 minutes out, family members hid in a room in the back by the kitchen where they could see the whole proposal.

Jessica saw the car pull up with Taylor, Shanna, mom, and sister in law. As Shanna approached the door, we started the Taylor Swift song. Garrett was so excited and nervous. As the door opened, Shanna said, “What is this?” She immediately started crying and walked down the pathway Garrett had for her.

Garrett told Shanna how much he loves her and how happy he was to spend his life with her. He popped the question, “She SAID YES!” The emotions, the joy, and love showed between Garrett and Shanna! Their families came rushing out and hugs all around! Champagne bottles and toasts all around the kitchen and the celebration began!

Shanna and Garrett, thank you so much for allowing me to capture this moment for y’all! I am so excited the Lord is brining you two together and can’t wait for the wedding planning to begin! Enjoy a few of my favorites from their Spring Waxahachie proposal!
