I’m thrilled to be sharing Maty and Connor’s New York City Central Park engagement session with you today! I had a great time traveling up to the Big Apple to photograph their portraits and this session was seriously beautiful. Maty and Connor love NYC, so I was thrilled when they asked if we could do their session there. They flew me up and my husband Jeff came along, too!
On the way, we hit Hurricane Ida but made it safely. We went to scope out Central Park before our session to find the fountain was actually flooded, so we made a different game plan for the day of the session! After our time in Central Park, we headed to DUMBO so we could have portraits with the bridge behind them. And then the next morning, we met up again for those fountain portraits. I’m so thankful Connor and Maty were so flexible and willing to work with me through it all!
Connor and Maty told me more about their love story during our time together in New York. They met in Nashville TN during a sales training for the company they were working for at the time. They didn’t see each other too much that trip, but they kept in touch. Before long, they realized they were calling and texting every day. A month later, Connor was asking Maty what her plans were for her birthday and New Year’s Eve. A few hours later, she opened her email and found a round trip ticket for her to spend NYE and her birthday with him in New York City. She took the chance on their trip and never looked back. She told me that the first day they were there it snowed and they felt like they were in a movie!! Now, they’re planning to be married in April!
It was no surprise that they wanted their portraits here, where they truly fell in love. They’ve traveled back to NYC several times since that first trip and I’m so happy I could capture these portraits for them. Congratulations, Maty and Connor! I can’t wait for your wedding day!!
