Winter Nest at Ruth Farms Wedding | Samantha & Jan 

I am so excited to share Samantha and Jan’s wedding this past November with y’all! I have loved serving this couple this past year in half.  Samantha put so much planning into this incredible fall wedding day at The Nest at Ruth Farms. Every detail was carefully thought out and worked perfectly at The NestI was so sad as I wasn’t able to photograph their wedding because we were due with baby 4, but my team stepped in for their wedding day to serve and love Samantha and Jan! 

Their Love Story

Samantha and Jan met through a youth group about ten years ago. Jan messaged Samantha on facebook asking about her best friend (pretending to like her, even though he didn’t). Eventually, Samantha and Jan became really good friends. Jan confessed his feelings but Samantha wanted to be friends still, so they left things at that. After 5 years in the friend zone, Samantha and Jan decided to give dating each other a try. 5 and half years later, Jan proposed at their apartment’s rooftop terrace with all their friends and family (like how Michael proposed to Holly in The Office). 

Winter Nest at Ruth Farms Wedding 

Samantha and Jan planned their fall wedding day between two gorgeous locations – their church in Frisco, TX and The Nest at Ruth Farms. Our team photographed all of the beautiful details Samantha chose, as well as her getting ready with her girls before heading to the church. Samantha and Jan wanted to be married at their church, so that’s what they planned. In their ceremony, they included the Unity Veil, Cord, and Coins – all Filipino traditions, which is just amazing! I’m still obsessed with the incredible pink florals all over the church during the ceremony, too. 

Afterwards, we headed back to The Nest at Ruth Farms for portraits with Samantha, Jan, and their bridal party. They even brought their pup along for photos, too! We had the most beautiful sunset, which created such warm and glowy light for their portraits – which our team loved. Their images just feel so cozy!! We ended the night with Samantha and Jan’s reception in the barn. Samantha and Jan pulled in so many gorgeous pink, red, and gold details to bring the space to life. Everything felt SO romantic!! 

Congratulations, Samantha and Jan. Your entire wedding day was simply stunning. While I’m sad I couldn’t be there, I’m so happy our incredible team photographed your celebration. I wish you both lots of love and happiness together!
