Setting Goals for 2020 into the New Year, we often try to set goals for ourselves to achieve before the end of the year! Raise your hand if your a goal setter? Do you actually write your goals down on pen and paper so you can see them daily? Or do you write them down in your head and try to remember them daily? I used to be the second person that mentally writes them down, but as life gets busy, I forget them! I didn’t realize until this year, how important it is to write your goals down!
This past December, I flew up to Richmond, Virginia to attend my 1st wedding conference! The room was filled with creatives wanted to change their perspective for 2020! We were all there to connect with each other, hear Katelyn James speak truth into our hearts, and let our vulnerability show! One thing, that stuck out to me during this conference that Katelyn James shared was, “Protect your Passion and nothing great is ever accomplished in life without passion- Rick Warren!” This quote hit on so many levels when it came to setting personal and professional goals for myself.
I need to become self-aware this year and look at myself and to be honest where I am at personally and professionally! Our brains need to share our wins and celebrate them! When we choose to not share those wins, we begin to lose motivation! I know in 2019, I had things that weren’t easy both personal and professionally. I had family members doubt me and I let my inner voice get the best of me! Giving up, was the best solution to me, so I thought. It wasn’t until attending KJ live event, that the Lord used her words to speak truth into my heart!
This scripture served my heart while sitting in that room in Richmond! That scripture helped me set my quarter 1 goals for 2020. This year, I sat down, reflected back on 2019 and started realize, I need to make changes and make sure I’m using my time intentionally! Not everyday is given to us and the Lord has a plan for everyone! Realizing this, is allowing me to think of the time I have the Lord, my husband, my kids, my family, and friends and how time is such a valuable gift to have!
As you go through this year, I would love for you to reflect on your past year and see where you like to set goals for you! I am setting goals this year quarterly, rather than the whole year! Quarterly goals can be broken up into 3 months at a time! Set realistic goals that you can do in the next 3 months! It can be personal or business related. Here in a second, I am going to share my 1st quarterly goals I have for my personal and business. But, take this time to soul search and love who you are and write down your goals! You got this and I will be cheering you on all the way!
Here are my goals for the next 3 months both personal and business ones:
