Congratulations, Macy and John! They tied the knot this January in a simply gorgeous wedding at The Gardenia. Every detail of their day was so well thought out – and truly beautiful to photograph. I’m still obsessed with all of the florals from this wedding. But, I’m more obsessed with Macy and John, two of the sweetest people you’ll ever know! 

Their Love Story

John and Macy met through social media in the fall of 2020. They texted and FaceTimed for weeks until Macy finally had the courage to meet him in person. John drove down to her college town when she was ready – and they’ve been inseparable ever since. After graduation, John moved to Dallas to be closer to Macy, because they knew that they were meant to be! In January 2022, John proposed to Macy at the Fort Worth Stockades on a 25 degree day! They were supposed to be going to “dinner” but they walked around instead. At one point, he got down on one knee for Macy. To top it off, their families were hiding in the trees waiting to celebrate with us! 

Macy told me her favorite thing about John is how fun loving he is. He always knows how to make her laugh and always makes sure to tell and show her how much he loves her. He’s selfless and always makes sure she’s taken care of. John told me he loves Macy’s loving heart. Macy goes above and beyond to make sure you know how much you mean to her and are appreciated. “She selflessly takes care of people she loves the most,” says John.

Winter Wedding at The Gardenia

I have been looking forward to Macy and John’s wedding day! You never know in January what the weather will be like here in Texas but we ended up with a warm (but overcast) day. It actually wound up being perfect. The Gardenia is SUCH a gorgeous venue, too. Even with the cloudy weather, we had some really gorgeous spots to capture Macy, John, and their wedding party throughout the day. 

Macy and John decided to meet at the altar for the first time. John watched Macy walk down the aisle – and his face was just perfect. He was definitely overcome seeing his future wife walk towards him!! It was such a beautiful moment for them both. After their ceremony, I captured portraits of the newlyweds among the pews before gathering their wedding party for portraits outside. The chapel at the Gardenia was just so gorgeous – a perfect backdrop for their photos together! 

When it was time for the reception, I couldn’t wait to see all of the details Macy and John had picked out. One of my favorites had to be the marquee lights of their last name! It was such a fun personal touch to the day. Their color palette for the day was very neutral, with pops of light pink among ivory and greenery. It looked amazing against the white and wood walls! Macy and John enjoyed dancing the night away with their family – it was definitely a great party!!

Congratulations, y’all. I’m so happy for you both, Macy and John. I know this is just the start of your best chapter together yet!!
