Katherine and Tyler’s Charleston engagement portraits might be some of my all-time favorites!! I love traveling and Charleston is such a beautiful city, so I was thrilled when they asked me to document this special time in their lives here!! What made their session extra special is that these two are photographers + videographers themselves!! Talk about pressure! I’m kidding, it was actually a ton of fun to be able to celebrate their engagement with some portraits in Charleston!!
Their story began over three years ago when they met for the first time at Bruster’s Ice Cream. The shop closed down before they really got to talk, so they hung out in the car with Zaya, their dog instead. They had a first date at Texas Roadhouse not much later, and as you might have guessed… it went well! Katherine and Tyler are beyond excited to finally tie the knot after three years together, with their family and friends celebrating!
I was so excited when I scheduled their Charleston engagement portraits! There’s something SO beautiful about this historic city and photographing a love story like Katherine and Tyler’s just made it feel even more lovely. We started their session on Rainbow Row with Zaya. Their sweet dog has SUCH a fun personality. I loved capturing the three of them.
Charleston also has a ton of beautiful buildings that we decided to use for their session, before a quick walk along the water and time in one of the parks in the city. I can’t get over how much variety one little city can provide! Katherine and Tyler were such a joy to work with, too. As photographers themselves, they know how hard sessions can be sometimes. But they’re naturals!! And it’s so clear to see how much they truly love each other. I’m 100% convinced they were meant for each other!
